In This Issue
"Felt Bird Ornaments"
Learn how to make a cardinal, peace dove, or robin with this simple pattern. You can use these birds as ornaments on your holiday greens, or make garlands with several birds. This project is perfect for grade school children and parents to do together, and requires little felt, and basic sewing skills.
"Hobby Horse"
This winter, you can make an heirloom toy, and give your child the ultimate hobby horse, made out of natural materials. You can choose to wet-felt, or needle-felt it, or take the easier route, and make it with the traditional sock pattern. Either way, your children will adore this beautiful design for the years to come.
"Knitting Projects"
Winter is our knitting issue of the year, with holiday cardigans and mittens for children. The cardigans are designed by Marie Grace Smith, and are thick enough to wear as a coat, to keep your children warm but stylish at the same time. The mittens, designed by Molli Hartel, are easy to make and the cleverly designed cuffs keep the snow and cold out during snow play and the cold weather. Also, by popular demand, we make a tradition to provide you with more knitted farm block options, bringing you five new designs. Two of the designs are by Nicky Epstein, renowned knitting designer and author, and three are by our contest winners. The rest will be showcased online by end of November. Designs include an apple tree, a root vegetable garden, a pumpkin patch, and a sheep meadow.
"Nature Candles"
You’ll learn how to make your table look warm, and smelling delicious with these beautiful candles by Jan Schubert, made from beeswax, using citrus, apple, pomegranate, and large walnut shells.
