The article is the story of how twelve women from across the U.S. and Canada came together to collaborate and design a knit farm playmat. Each was in charge of creating one knitted piece of what would become a 12-piece knit farm playmat pattern. They coordinated through email and mail, shared patterns and ideas, and worked on what would become an heirloom piece for each of them. Some of the participants didn’t have children, but they enjoyed the creative co-op process and collaboration with other women.
