True intelligence arises when children are given the opportunity to engage their hearts and hands as well their minds. That’s the educational philosophy behind Oak Meadow’s uniquely creative K-8 homeschooling curriculum. Oak Meadow involves the whole child by including assignments that not only ask children to read, write, and think, but also to paint, draw, play music, write poetry, and build things. | Susie H. | Submitted on 2011/11/17 at 1:27 amA friend had recently mentioned she was considering Oak Meadow – I went to peek at the website then and ended up devouring and soaking in much as I could. I am THAT intrigued by the program! I have considered making the switch to homeschooling (my oldest is 1st grade) and this would be the one. I love how the curricula is based on matters relevant to the child. Neighborhoods, nature walks, fairytales, etc. – and learning seems to be a process of discovering via these relevant areas. It seems like a method that will encourage the child to take the initiative to learn even more. |

We have used OM for our foundation for all of our children. I like their holistic approuch and there respect for the developemental stages of childhood.
i would love the first grade for curriculum for my 6 year old daughter and her friends!
We have worked with Oak Meadow curriculum and are on our 2nd year of using it. We love the gentle, natural approach which is helping to support and foster my child’s love of arts and crafts while teaching her the basics of education she needs to know. We look forward to using it again. I’m excited at how the program lays out over the years and the enrichment of education she will receive. Thanks for this giveaway, we love having the chance!
I have been drawn to Oak Meadow in years past as it seems very simple/natural and yet gives a strong foundation while challenging students at an age appropriate level. I would love to try it with my kids!
I am a Navajo/Dakotah Sioux homeschooling mom and grandmother and the only Native American homeschooling mom (I know of) outside of my own family. Together my children and I have browsed through an Oak Meadow curriculum and consider this an outstanding curriculum. I have never been able to afford it and my children enjoy using the sample pages on the Oak Meadow website. It is rare indeed to find a curriculum that fits into our homeschooling lifestyle. With so many homeschooling curriculum options available this is one that presents itself in a clear manner and the only one in which my children enjoy through the use of the sample pages.
Hi, just wondering where you live and if we could talk over the phone? I am an older mother that home schools younger children. My older children were formerly home schooled. Peace, K.
I should have said “who home schools my younger children”. K.
I adore the fact that Oak Meadow has been around since before homeschooling was such a huge trend and that it is child centered. Elizabeth epdeans@yahoo.com
Oak Meadow’s philosophy and style fits perfectly with our own. Their curriculum is on my wish list, and since my girl is approaching Kindergarten, we would choose that one. What a bless it would be to win it! Thanks for the chance!
I love the focus on hands on, real learning that connects to the child’s interests.
As a Waldorf family, Oak Meadow a natural choice for us. We will use it whether we win or not but winning a year sounds GREAT!
While looking for ideas to add some fun to our homeschool program for our six children, I was introduced to Oak Meadow by a friend and fell in love with it! It is just what I’ve been looking for and would love to switch to this beautiful, natural approach for the remainder of our homeschooling journey (still have 18 more years to go.
I would love this opportunity for our home-schooled daughter! Oak Meadow looks perfect for her.
I am seriously looking at using Oak Meadow next year for my homeschooler! It looks to be the perfect combination of traditional text books and a more relaxed learning experience.
homeschooler- meant to say ‘highschooler’. Oops.
We love OakMeadow. It mixes our way of life and feelings with a wonderful education. Teaches my kids that nature is important and you can learn alot from it.
I just love the OM fairytale books! we’ve been using them for kindy and first grade!
My daughter is in the most wonderful Waldorf-inspired preschool right now and begins Kindergarten next year. I’m trying to learn about homeschooling (I’ve never had any experience with it) and Oak Meadows philosophies seem to have created the curriculum I’m looking for.
We love Oak Meadow. We’ve been using it for the past 3 years and it has worked wonderfully with our family.
I really like their approach to education.
I’d love to share this with the parents of my 6 year old “Sun Children” when they move on from my mixed age home based program of Waldorf kindergarten.
This sounds so much like what my little family is about, we’ve just moved close to the woods since we love nature, and music and arts are our everyday engagements. I love how natural and gentle the oak meadows curriculum feels. I’ve just started home-schooling my daughters, my youngest will be starting the first grade and my oldest is starting Jr. High.
I will have a 5yo next year who would do well with this approach. She’s the 4th of 5 children and loves her learning time with mom. As for me, I love all the hugs she gives me when I spend one-on-one time with her!
I love Oak Meadow’s developmentally appropriate curriculum and would love to give it a try!
We enjoyed the preschool and Kindergarten Oak Meadow curriculum in the past. I kept lending my curriculum out for other mothers to preview and use. It was the basis curriculum at our homeschooling co-op. It really allows the kids to use their imagination.
I would love a chance to win the OM curiculum for a year. It seems like such a nice way to learn.
I think the curriculum encourages curiosity in learning, which is something I value. Creativity comes from curiosity and I want my wee ones to hold onto that and a sense of playfulness in their education. Wonderful giveaway. X
I like the simple yet holistic presentation of Oak Meadow. This looks like something my kids would benefit from and I love that it is all organized for me already!
I’ve been looking at Oak Meadow for a little while and thinking about trying out their materials. I love their emphasis on the seasons and nature activities and crafts. Thanks.
I love the use of stories to teach arithmetic and the formation of the letters in first grade. The use of rich fairy tales is a beautiful way to allow children to live in a rich fantasy world even when they’re learning!
Wow! We would love to use Oak meadow. I like that it is holistic and tells me exactly what to do.
I don’t feel the traditional school system nurishes children’s minds as much as it could. And after looking at this program, it appears all encompassing. This is right along the lines of my natural approach to teaching my daughter, it’s almost like someone took my ideas and made them into a full curriculum. I am considering a homeschool program for her as I think it would be much better for her, she is so smart and answering the 1st grade questions in Kindergarten. Plus, give her more quality time with mommy
I like that it is a flexible solution to homeschooling. I also like that it has a distance learning option. I think I’ll start the preschool this year.
Oak Meadow has been on my wish list for a while now. I would love the 5th grade curriculum for my son.
OM curriculum would work well for my grandchild. My daughter would be very grateful to have access to this well known learning program.
Love the link to the fiber arts!
My my nieces and nephew are each home-schooled — a year of Oak Meadow curriculum would be such a lovely gift for any one of them (and mama, too)!
thanks Oak Meadow for a gentle, loving, child centered approach towards learning and education. the curriculum is obviously crafted with love and with your help we are raising a new generation of kind, intelligent and sentient people.
Oak Meadow has been a great resource when planning the year. A lot of good insights and ways to bring the curriculum not only to the children but to help parents better understand what the children are doing. Great updates. Thanks
I just found out about Oak Meadow and am intrigued. It looks great. Would love to win to try it out. Thanks for this chance.
I have used oak Meadow’s kindergarten and first grade curriculum and bits and pieces of second and third grade curriculums. I would love to be able to use more of Oak Meadow again. Oak Meadow nurtures the child and anyone who shares the space with the child — it touches the whole family in a very healthy and powerful way.
Our family would have such fun with this curriculum. Thanks for such a generous giveaway.
I would love to win this curriculum for my grandchildren living in Wyoming.
i like that i could incorporate their lessons into what we are already doing as a family.
I love oak meadows approach to learning and how you can mix and match levels to suit your childs needs. Fantastic giveaway!

Throwing our penny in the wishing well. We would love this curriculum. Best of wishes to everyone!
Oh, have I been longing for Oak Meadow, but have not been able to afford it as of yet. We piece together our own, which I enjoy, but would love to have the strong, lovely, foundation of Oak Meadow to build off of!
I cannot find the
