Starting in Norway we have these lovely floor cushions. Such a great knitting project…I can imagine having three or four scattered about the living room, in various tones…bright, cheerful, playful colors. Or maybe done in red with white spots for little toadstool poufs, or in green with loop stich tufts and crocheted flowers sew on? It might be hard to stop making them after you get started! The pillows above are made following this great tutorial from the wonderful yarn and pattern company Pickles. If you don’t already know them- you’re going to love them!

In the US, we find another great knitting tutorial created by Ashley Weeks Cart at Blog A La Cart.

Or maybe this crocheted version if the one for you, from Holland, with a tutorial in both Dutch and English by Judith at LA Love.
Any of these could be made with some of the inexpensive, bulky yarns that are now available, or this could be a great stashbusting project, using up single balls or leftovers by holding several strands of yarn together. You could achieve a great effect by alternating these as you go along. Or try repurposing some cottons by tearing or cutting strips from an old sheet, shirts or dresses, then knitting or crocheting! Like a colorful rag rag for sitting on!

If knitting or crocheting one these yourself feels like too big an undertaking when you’d rather be getting your hands dirty in the Spring garden, La Casa De Coto in Spain, has a fabulous selection of finished poufs in their shop.

Thanks so much Fiona! I’ve been seeing these all over and was wondering the best way to knit one- now I can just get knitting.
